Bristol Community Health has made a further appointment to its board, Finance Director Jo Makinson. This latest hire follows the appointment of Non-Executive Director Dr Julie Dovey at the beginning of the year.

Jo Makinson joins the organisation from her post as Financial Director at United Communities, a Bristol housing association partnership, and her public sector audit work with international consultancy PwC.

On joining the organisation, Jo said “I’m delighted to join Bristol Community Health at such an exciting time for the organisation and for the health sector as a whole.

“The organisation feels energetic and is passionate about our patients – I very much look forward to working alongside the rest of the Board, staff and stakeholders to continue to grow and develop our services”.

Bristol Community Health Chair Paul Kearney said. “We’re delighted to welcome Jo to Bristol Community Health, joining us as she does with a wealth of relevant experience in her field.” He went on to say “The re-energised board will continue to steer the organisation toward the planned future integration of primary care, secondary care and social care, and help us deliver on our community pledge, following our recent contract extension.”
