Labour MP visits our Urgent Care Centre

On Tuesday 3 June 2014, South Bristol Community Hospital (SBCH), at which our Urgent Care Centre is based, was visited by Bristol South Labour MP, Dawn Primarolo.

Dawn was instrumental in the development of SBCH, and opened the hospital on 31 March 2012. During her most recent visit, Dawn looked around the Urgent Care Centre, University Hospitals Bristol (UHB) wards, X-ray, theatres and outpatients, meeting both patients and staff.

Short presentations about the hospital’s journey so far and aspirations for the future were given by representatives from UHB, the Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group, Bristol Community Health, Bristol Infracare Lift and Medirest.

The residents of South Bristol waited many years for our hospital so it was fantastic to see the very wide range of services now provided in our community.

Dawn said of her visit, “the residents of South Bristol waited many years for our hospital so it was fantastic to see the very wide range of services now provided in our community. As always I was tremendously impressed by both the care and professionalism of the staff who work in our NHS.”
