HMP Bristol, Cambridge Road, Bristol, BS7 8PS (map and directions below)
About the open day
Prison nursing is diverse, challenging and – above all – highly rewarding. We firmly believe that good healthcare can change lives. Could you be part of our team?
The day begins with a short presentation on healthcare at HMP Bristol, then you’ll be shown around the prison to understand first-hand what working in this environment could be like.
There’ll also be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and meet our dedicated and knowledgeable team. This is a rare opportunity to gain a genuine insight into what prison nursing is really like.
The open day will last around 1-2 hours.
Who is it for?
We’re currently looking for registered nurses to join our team.
Whether you’re looking for a permanent role or more flexible bank working, we’d love to meet you.
About HMP Bristol
HMP Bristol is a Category B adult male prison catering for 640 men who are either convicted or on remand. The majority of prisoners are serving sentences of less than 12 months. The prison is located in the north of Bristol in Horfield, just off Gloucester Road (click here for directions).
Our team offers a wide range of care within the prison – from general health assessments and routine clinics, to supporting prisoners overcome long histories of substance misuse. We have a dedicated substance misuse service, urgent care team and a dedicated healthcare centre, where we aim to deliver services equal to that in a community setting.
Bristol Community Health is part of the InspireBetterHealth partnership, which provides healthcare in five prisons across the South West.
