We will be offering blood pressure checks to local shoppers

Shoppers who visit Asda Bedminster on Thursday March 14, 2013, will have the opportunity to have their blood pressure tested by staff from our Urgent Care Centre, who are using their day off to do this.

Staff from our Urgent Care Centre, which is based in the South Bristol Community Hospital, in Hengrove, will be hosting a stand from 10am – 4pm, to let people know what support and treatment is available at the centre.

Sarah Brierley, our Urgent Care Centre Lead, who organised the event, said: "The Urgent Care Centre can provide a vast range of treatment and care for minor injuries and illnesses.

"We are delighted to again be able to offer blood pressure checks to local shoppers and advise them on the healthcare services available to them at their local Urgent Care Centre."

The forthcoming event at Asda follows on from a previous successful blood pressure check and promotion day at the end of January, also held at the superstore in Bedminster, where our Urgent Care Centre staff spoke to more than 200 people throughout the day.

The Urgent Care Centre, which opened in March last year, provides all the services of a Walk-in Centre with the addition of being able to refer for on-site x-rays and other diagnostic tests. There is no need for patients to have an appointment for the centre, instead they can just drop in during its opening hours of 8am and 8pm every day.
