What is this service?

The Bristol Community Health Podiatry service provides comprehensive foot care for conditions affecting the foot and leg. Courses of treatment for medical conditions that affect foot health and / or a person’s mobility are also offered.

The clinics are based in various community settings across Bristol.

What does this service offer?

Our service provides podiatry services in community clinics across Bristol and a restricted home visiting service for those patients that are chair/bed bound. The treatment provided will be based on a risk assessment.

The care the podiatry service provides includes:

  • immediate, short term and long term solutions to painful foot problems.
  • minor surgery using local anesthetic.
  • prescribing aids to help with structural imbalances, affecting the feet and legs.
  • screening for potential foot problems.
  • screening for patients with diabetes who are at increased or high risk of developing foot problems.
  • risk line manned by a clinician for patients with diabetes (Monday – Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm).
  • helpful advice on foot problems.

Who is the service for?

Our service is for both adults and children who have medical foot and health care needs and are registered with a GP in Bristol.

How can I access this service?

You can access this service either by referring yourself to one of the community clinics, or by asking your GP, district nurse, health visitor or another health professional to refer you.
