Minister for Care Services, Paul Burstow, spent time with Bristol Community Health staff on 4th January when he visited the South Bristol Intermediate Care Centre as part of a wider visit to the south-west.
During his visit staff introduced Mr Burstow to the Single Point of Access service, as well as talking to him about our REACT and Rapid Response services and the work of the Rehabilitation teams. Mr Burstow also met with some service users and their families who shared their experiences with him.
This was a great opportunity to showcase the strong integrated partnership working between Bristol Community Health and Bristol City Council in providing services to support adults to lead and maintain independent lives. It was also an opportunity to discuss plans for the future with Mr Burstow, including possible advancements in areas such as telehealth and telecare services.
Mr Burstow thanked all the staff and service users involved in his visit and said that he hoped to be back soon.
