Over the last few months, we have been working on developing an exciting new project; our 1000 Days Business Plan. This plan encompasses many of our projects which are being delivered to enhance and extend the services we provide, and continuously improve our patients' experience and outcomes.
Some of our projects cover many of our services, and some are service specific. What they all have in common is that they work to improve the healthcare we are currently providing across Bristol. That could be by supporting a service to become more productive with the use of mobile working technology, or it could be addressing the needs of our staff as a whole. All of these projects will enable us to deliver excellence and build success.
The plan, which support Bristol Community Health for the next three years, is based on the following four principles, which make up our organisational strategy:
1. Being the best – Recruit and retain high quality individuals
2. Time to Care – Improved productivity through technology and streamlining.
3. Managing our money – Build success and manage sustainability financially.
4. Making their day – Ensure best practice and positive outcomes for the patient

This autumn, Bristol Community Health published its first Community Pledge. The Pledge sets out five promises that Bristol Community is making to the people of Bristol, in relation to the ‘social value’ our work creates.
- To tackle health inequalities: through accessible services, health promotion and advice, as well as supported self-care.
- To support the wellbeing of the community: through promoting the wellbeing of patients and staff, contributing to the wellbeing of our community, and making a bigger impact through partnerships.
- To engage with and involve our community: through communication, feedback and openness, through opening up opportunities to work with us, and making a bigger impact through participation and collaboration.
- To re-invest in our community: through reinvesting and supporting local suppliers and charities, offering time and expertise to the community, and making a bigger impact through partnering or subcontracting.
- To contribute to environmental sustainability: through staff cycling and recycling, through green transport alternatives, and through making a bigger difference through mobile working.
